RM of Wellington’s story
The Rural Municipality of Wellington No. 97 lies in the southeast part of Saskatchewan. It incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909.
Several communities have grown up within its boundaries. Cedoux and Tyvan were both once villages: Cedoux dissolved as a village on July 21, 1913, and Tyvan on July 1, 1936. Colfax and Rainton are also found within the RM as unincorporated communities.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the first Wednesday of each month. The municipal office is in Weyburn.
